The Ability Center partners with First Tee to launch All Access Golf, an Adaptive Sports Initiative

The Ability Center is proud to announce a partnership with First Tee to launch All Access Golf, a new adaptive sports initiative designed to make golf more inclusive and accessible for adults with disabilities.

The Ability Center and First Tee will host an open house on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First Tee, 4700 Hill Ave, Toledo, OH 43615. The event is free and open to participants ages 18 and older.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hit golf balls, enjoy complimentary food, and learn more about the All Access Golf series, which officially begins in Spring 2026. The series will feature seasonal clinics, personalized instruction from adaptive golf coaches, and opportunities for social play to help participants build skills and confidence on the course.

“All Access Golf represents our ongoing commitment to expanding adaptive sports opportunities across the Toledo area,” said Maggie Dreier, Independent Living Director at The Ability Center. “By creating new pathways for participation, we’re helping people connect, grow, and do what they enjoy.”

“First Tee is thrilled to partner with The Ability Center for an open house for the families and individuals they serve,” said Michael Prothe, Executive Director of Operations and Programming at First Tee. “Our mission is to make golf affordable and accessible for all, and this partnership is an exciting step toward that goal.”

The Ability Center and First Tee share a vision of growing adaptive sports opportunities in Northwest Ohio, with the long-term goal of developing a competitive adaptive golf team, The Glass City Eagles, to represent the region and foster community pride.
