The Ability Center Releases Recommendations for Local Businesses

The Ability Center has unveiled a fact sheet designed to educate business owners on accessibility as they redesign spaces to prepare for reopening. As a service organization for people with disabilities, we understand our population is one of the at-risk groups for contracting this virus. The Americans with Disabilities Act provides that individuals with disabilities be afforded the same opportunities when accessing public accommodations.

The community is encouraged to contact The Ability Center for assistance and support to ensure businesses are safe and welcoming to people of all abilities.

In recognition of our 100th anniversary, our goal is to become the most disability-friendly community in the country. By enhancing accessibility and safer procedures during this global pandemic and beyond, we will be one step closer to achieving this mission.
